About RAM

Rwanda Association of Manufacturers (RAM)

is the national business membership organization representing Rwanda’s manufacturing industries. RAM is a member of the Private Sector Federation (PSF) and serves as a central reference point for government and other stakeholders seeking manufacturers’ views on socio-economic and industrial matters.​

Who We Are

RAM exists to unite manufacturers and strengthen Rwanda’s industrial sector through advocacy, member services, and market opportunity facilitation—locally, regionally, and internationally. RAM is also a member of the East African Manufacturers Network, supporting a coordinated regional approach to issues affecting manufacturing competitiveness.

Mission

To provide a common platform for advocacy and information dissemination in a way that will unite all stakeholders in Rwanda’s manufacturing sector so that they can take full advantage of business opportunities locally, regionally and internationally.

Vision

To become a trusted, respected, and effective partner so as to act as a catalyst for innovation and competitiveness of the manufacturing sector in the region.

Historical Background

With support and efforts from the Rwanda Chamber of Industry (RCI) and the Private Sector Federation (PSF), the association was revived as Rwanda Association of Manufacturers (RAM) on 23 July 2013, with 36 founding members, in the presence of the Minister of Trade and Industry. As of 2016, RAM had 100+ member companies, largely medium and large enterprises.

Our Mandate

Our Mandate RAM’s mandate is structured around the following: Serve as a central point of reference for government and stakeholders seeking manufacturers’ views on matters of socio-economic importance. Represent and advise members’ interests in legislative and regulatory processes at all levels. Initiate and promote market opportunities to support growth and competitiveness.

Strategic Direction

RAM’s strategy focuses on three strategic outcomes: Priority sector issues addressed and resolved (Advocacy Program) Effective services provided to members (Training, Investor Services, Market Information) Strong and sustainable association (Capacity Building, Branding & Communication, Financial Sustainability)
